ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)

ACT - what is it?  (Pronounced just like the verb, act.)

ACT is an evidenced-based type of cognitive therapy that provides a unique and refreshing way of unraveling the mystery of finding happiness and life satisfaction.

To quote the renowned ACT expert Russ Harris: “The aim of ACT is to help you live a rich, full, and meaningful life while effectively handling the pain that inevitably comes your way.”

“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” - Lao Tzu

Getting Started

Before the first session clients fill out necessary paperwork through my secure, HIPAA compliant portal (Simple Practice). This will typically take about 10-15 minutes.

In the first session (intake session) I invite clients to share basic background information about themselves and their needs, and I answer any questions clients have. This session is 60 minutes in length. If we have not covered everything in this first session, I fill in missing pieces gradually as we move forward with therapy.

The Office

I share office space with two other therapists in a comfortable, welcoming office in Woodinville.

I have the office on Mondays only. The office is ADA accessible.

Telehealth

Telehealth is convenient, confidential and HIPAA compliant. Before your first session I send you a link to the telehealth platform called Doxy.me. You will use this link each time you have a session. I advise clients to make sure they set aside a quiet space that gives them privacy.
